Hello, I’m Jan, a qualified counsellor. I’ve lived in Cornwall for almost all my life and feel lucky to have my grown-up children and their families nearby. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening especially growing vegetables to cook and eat practising Pilates, and spending time with my family and friends. I like to think of myself as down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and above all, a good listener.
My Approach to Counselling
I use the person-centred approach, which means I believe that with the right support, everyone has the ability to find their own way to a more fulfilling life. My role is to provide a safe, confidential space where you can speak openly, knowing that I am here to listen without judgement and to support you as you work through life’s challenges.
My Counselling Services
I am happy to offer a service that suits you best an example of these can be found below.
Face to Face
This is a service where we can meet in person in a private, safe and confidential environment in Pool, Redruth or Falmouth.
Home Visits
A home visit may be considered in certain circumstances, if you wish to discuss please do feel free to enquire via the contact page.
Online Video or Call
This is a service that allows you to have either an online video or voice call via zoom. This offers a greater degree of flexibility if you have a busy lifestyle as this service cuts out travelling.
Telephone
I am available for telephone conversations by using a landline or mobile, this also cuts out the need for travelling to attend appointments and allows you to have your session in a comfortable and private space of your choosing.
How I Can Help
I work with a wide range of life challenges, from feelings of general dissatisfaction and relationship issues to addiction and mental health concerns. People often come to me when experiencing anxiety, depression, confusion, resentment, loneliness, anger, frustration, or fear.
Why Choose Counselling?
Throughout my life, I’ve worked in many different roles, meeting people from all walks of life. This has shown me that, at times, we all need a little lift to help us get through. Counselling can make a real difference by providing the support and space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and follow their ethical framework to ensure my practice is safe and professional.
If you’re considering counselling or simply want to find out more, please feel free to contact me. I’m here to help you take the first step towards feeling more at ease and in control of your life.
